Hello again my friends! Hopefully the flowers of ths very lovely May are as blooming in your garden, as they are here.
Now that the really nice weather has arrived, my wife agreed that it was time to reopen, clean, and prepare the shop for another season's production (a grand waste of time and energy, says she).
With that done, she suggested that since she wanted to get some baking done, that it may be a good idea if I were to visit one or another of my woodworking friends (and to get thee out from under my feet, says she). So off I ventured to visit my good friend Janus K., (remember to be back at a respectable hour, she none to subtly reminds me).
As I neared Janus' workshop, there he was, emerging from the building. Hello friend Burro, he said, come to the house, and sit yourself down for a proper visit. I have such a tale of woe for you!
Once we had settled in, and his wife brought us some refreshments, he began his tale. Oh Burro, he said, I should have listened to you when I closed up my shop for the winter. When I opened the shop, I found a literal ark of small animals had taken residence. I had counted fifteen bird's nests in the rafters, three families of voles had set up home in various large tools, a herd of mice had gnawed at the legs of all the benches, that says he, with a squadron of cats chasing them. It had taken him a good week to clear them all out of the shop.
We then went on to other subjects, and the fortunes and misfortunes of one friend or another, until I noticed that it was getting dark out. With haste, I said my adieu and hurried home.
I returned home to a warm welcome from my wife, who was pleased to see me home at a respectable hour, she presented me with a plate of her finest baked delicacies. Once again, it seems that time certainly does fly, and I find that I must take my leave of you, and that I remain...
